Renard Penn

BIOGRAPHY

Renard’s clients include several leading commercial real estate proprietors, for whom he provides holistic service that is indistinguishable from that of in-house counsel. Renard has also been lead counsel on several multi-jurisdictional merger and acquisition matters which involved telecommunications, commercial real estate, and commercial vessels. Renard has also, on secondment, served as Senior Counsel to the BVI Financial Services Commission.

Prior to co-founding Alberton, Renard worked as Legal Counsel at a leading offshore law practice for two years. He also served as Vice President and in-house Legal Counsel to a major real estate development and management practice for four years.

Renard was selected by his peers to serve for two consecutive terms as Treasurer of the BVI Bar Association and as the member secretary on a BVI Bar Association Committee, which recommends revisions to the Probate Rules.

Renard is passionate about his clients’ cases, always giving them his full attention and not resting until the best possible outcome is achieved. He is also an avid boater and a certified scuba diver and is fascinated by all things in the technology space.

Renee de Gannes Penn

BIOGRAPHY

Renee advises clients on matters of Commercial Real Estate, Contracts, Trusts and Estates, and Environmental law. She represents a wide array of clients – from individuals to corporations.

Prior to co-founding Alberton in 2010, Renee served as the Judicial Assistant and, briefly, as the Deputy Registrar (Ag) to the High Court of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court in the British Virgin Islands. She also acted as Judicial Assistant to the Supreme Court of Trinidad and Tobago. As part of her in-service legal training, Renee interned at the Offices of the Attorney General and the Director of Public Prosecutions of Trinidad and Tobago.

In 2020, Renee was appointed as a Specialist Consultant for The Trade, Oceans and Natural Resources Advisory Directorate of The Commonwealth Secretariat. In 2018, upon completing her environmental law studies in Melbourne, Australia, Renee served at the Disaster Management Branch of the United Nations Environment Programme, Geneva, Switzerland.

Renee is devoted to achieving the best results for her clients. She is also passionate about all issues concerning the wellbeing of the environment, climate change, and environmental justice.
